Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain always copies of a stable quality, by detecting a toner density and a surface potential from a toner image and comparing them with reference values and controlling a controlling circuit by the control signal obtained by this comparison. CONSTITUTION:A toner density and a surface potential of the toner image of a reference target are detected by a reflective densitometer 101 and a surface potentiometer 102 and are inputted to a microcomputer 16 through an input circuit 12 controlled by a processor 13 and are compared with reference values to output a control signal. Various controlling circuits 15 are controlled by the output to obtain always copies of a stable quality.
