Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform uniform density adjustment through simple constitution by detecting the texture density of an original being fed along its overall length in the feeding direction, and setting the brightness of an exposing lamp on the basis of the detected value. CONSTITUTION:An original inserted into an original insertion opening 13 is fed onto a contact glass plate 14 by a belt 11. Photosensors 181 and 182 for original density detection are arranged at an about 15cm interval in the direction perpendicular to the paper surface to detect the density of blank parts at the inside of the opposite two short side edges of the original of B5 size. An optical exposure system including an exposing lamp is provided under the contact glass plate 14 to project reflected light from the original upon the surface of a light reducing body during copying operation. Consequently, the original density is detected and held during original feeding to energize the exposing lamp through an exposure controller 21, etc., to brightness which corresponds to the density information. Thus, uniform density adjustment is performed through the simple constitution.
