Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a cooler which permits cooling of casting pins efficiently in an inten-casting cycle time by using cooling member which is so formed as to enclose said pins, spraying mists in the cooling position and cooling the pins.
CONSTITUTION: A bottom part 3 has casting pins 9, and a cooling plate 10 is provided for the purpose of cooling said pins 9. The plate 10 is interlocked to an unloader pallet 8, and when the pallet 8 is inserted between the parts 3 and 4, the plate 10 is also inserted between the parts 3, 4 simultaneously. When the pallet 8 moves upward toward the top part 4, the plate 10 descends toward the lower part 3. The plate 10 has a cooling cylinder 11 enclosing the pins 9 of the part 3, and many mist spraying nozzles 11a for spraying cooling liquid like mists toward the pins 9 are formed to said cylinder 11. If necessary, a nozzle 12 for blowing the cooling liquid like mists to the areas of the bottom part vulnerable to overheating is also provided to the cooling plate.
