Abstract
PURPOSE:To inhibit the sticking of molten Zn to the side of a stee strip not to be galvanized by arranging electromagnetic induction heaters heating the surface and sides of a sink roll and an end part of the strip and by setting a gas wiping device at the position where the strip contacts with the roll to enable temp. control at suitable positions of the roll. CONSTITUTION:Electromagnetic induction heaters 5, 6, 7 are arranged over a sink roll 1, by the roll 1 and at an end part of a steel strip, respectively, and by supplying AC to the heaters 5, 6, 7, the roll 1 is heated to a suitable temp. at suitable positions by induction heating. A gas wiping device 13 is set at the position where the strip contacts with the roll 1, gaseous propane is spouted toward the end part of the strip together with O2 and burned, and Zn migrated from a zinc bath 2 is blown off by the hot high-speed combustion gas.
