Abstract

PURPOSE:To always perform adequate ignition timing control and improve performance of full load operation especially at low temperature, by obtaining a basic advance angle value from detection of engine speed, load, etc. and providing a correction means holding the basic advance angle value to at least a required value for an engine at low temperature. CONSTITUTION:Each output signal S1-S4 of a temperature sensor 1, intake negative pressure sensor 2, reference angle sensor 3 and unit angle sensor 4 is input to an arithmetic device 6 through an input/output control device 5. Then speed of an engine and its load are firstly obtained from the signals S2-S4, and a basic advance angle value AT, corresponding to these values, is obtained. Secondary from the signal S1, said value AT is output as a control advance angle value A as left in that state when cooling water temperature at least T0 is detected at completion of warm-up operation, and an ignition device containing an ignition coil 9 is controlled. On the contrary, when the cooling water temperature not higher than T0 is detected before completion of the warm-up operation, the basic advance angle value AT is corrected in accordance with the temperature correction coefficient K, and the ignition device is similarly controlled by the corrected control advance angle value A.
