Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent any performance decrease of a lithium solid-electrolyte battery without using any battery case by providing an electric-insulating airtight film and a given heat-shrinkable plastic film, in that order, so that they are in close contact with the side circumference surface of a stacked body for the solid battery. CONSTITUTION:A solid battery is constituted by stacking a negative active material 2, a solid electrolyte 3 and a positive active material 4, and holding them between thin current-collecting plates 1 and 1'. After that, the side circumference wall of the battery is airtightly covered with an electric-insulating airtight film 5, and a heat-shrinkable plastic film 6 with a thermal deformation temperature of below 200 deg.C is provided over the airtight film 5 so that the entire film 5 and the outermost peripheries of the plates 1 and 1' are closely covered with the film 6. It is preferred that lead iodide or a mixture of lead and lead iodide is used as the above positive active material 4, that lithium nitride is used as the above solid electrolyte 3, and that lithium metal is used as the above negative active material 2.
