Abstract
PURPOSE:To detect a shell cracked grain ratio with high accuracy, by making grains of rice stably flow down and run on the surface of a light transmitting window by a suitable inclination of an inclined grain flowing plate, and detecting cracked grains by a transmission light beam of a grain of rice. CONSTITUTION:When sample unhulled rice is thrown into a hopper 4 and a device is started, the hulled rice which has flowed down to a rice receiving pipe part 21 of a vibrating grain feed plate 8 is arrayed exactly like running longitudinally in a grain feed line groove 2 by the vibration action, advances, and also is accelerated and carried into a grain flowing line groove 5 of an inclined grain flowing plate 6. The unhulled rice does not jump by a suitable inclination of the line groove 5, flows down and runs smoothly, and passes through a light transmitting window 7 like a slit. The unhulled rice positioned in the light transmitting window 7 is irradiated through the slit from a light source 8 of the lower part, its transmission light beam is photodetected by photodetectors 18, 19 of a photodetecting device 9, a shell cracked grain is detected by its degree of light and darkness, also the total number of grains is detected, the shell cracked grain ratio is calculated and displayed on a display device 20.
