Abstract
PURPOSE:To make contact cutting and automatic cutting possible without damaging parts in melt working used both for TIG arc melt working and plasma melt working by supplying or stopping the output of an auxiliary circuit in parallel with a main power source circuit. CONSTITUTION:First, the voltage setter in a limiting device 15 is set on a low voltage side by opening the change-over circuit 24 of an auxiliary voltage circuit 20. At the starting, a torch is progressed while a pilot arc is generated by an electric power source 11, and a plasma main arc (a) is generated by applying the main power source. When the current detection signal thereof is applied to the device 15, the voltage setter of the device 15 is set to a high voltage side instantaneously or after lapse of a prescribed time, whereby plasma working is effected. In the stage of TIG welding, the torch is replaced, and the start voltage is set at a high voltage, thence the circuit 24 of the circuit 20 is closed to apply an auxiliary voltage (high voltage) between an electrode 3 and the work 5, whereby the electrode 3 is quickly heated to generate the arc easily.
