PURPOSE:To dispense with special equipment and facilitate mounting work, by inserting an antifriction bearing into the bearing mounting annular recess of a die-cast article taken out of the die and by thereafter cooling the article to contract it to secure the bearing. CONSTITUTION:Right after a die-cast article 1 is separated from the die, an antifriction bearing 10 is fitted in the recess 5 of the article so that the shaft hole 13 of the inner race 12 is aligned to that 7 of the article 1. A small clearance S is previously set between the inside 8 of the recess 5 and the outside of the outer race 11 of the bearing 10 to facilitate the fitting. Since the cast article 1 cools and contracts, the diameter 8 of the recess 5 decreases so that the inside 8 of the recess is secured on the outside of the outer race 11 of the bearing 10. According to this method, no special equipment for heating, cooling, etc. is needed and the bearing mounting work is facilitated.
