Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a retainer from seizing onto the outer part at the deformation of the retainer due to a centrifugal force in a bearing device provided in the part of a crank-pin on a crank-shaft of an engine by a method wherein the corner of a section part of the retainer holding a plurality of rollers is chamferred.
CONSTITUTION: A bearing comprising a plurality of rollers held by the retainer 4 and other rollers 5 is provided in the part of the crank-pin 2 of the crank-shaft 1 and the outer part 3 at the large diameter end of a connecting rod is supported rotatably around this bearing. The retainer 4 posseses radial section parts 6 in a coil form or a split form. In this case, chamferring 7a is conducted at the corner of the section part 6 of the retainer 4. Also, when the diameter of the retainer 4 is shown by D, the chamferring dimension is set about 0.02W0.08D for the length l1 in the peripheral direction, about 0.002W0.02D for the depth d1 in the radial direction and about 0.002W0.02D for the roundness r1.
