Abstract

The crank assembly has a movable housing (30) adjustable in a longitudinal position relative to the supporting bicycle frame cage (7). This consists of an externally threaded cylinder matching the inside of the cage. The cage has two spindle bearings (73,77) to take axial and radial thrust. The bearings can be needle or a variety of ball types. The cage inner and outer threading is done in one operation as is the machining of the recesses to house the bearings. Greasing of the bearings is done via a greaser (41) on the crank fixing bolt.
