Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the engine by a structure wherein a heat insulating material is inserted in a cylinder bottom plate part at the title adiabatic expansion type engine used in cryogenic refrigerator or the like. CONSTITUTION:The heat insulating material 17 is inserted in the cylinder bottom plate part 1b and an outer tube part 2. Owing to the structure as described above, the intrusion passage of heat from a suction valve chamber 13 into a cylinder 1 is limitted only directly through a restricted passage 18 of the cylinder bottom plate part 1b or along the surface 2a of the outer tube part 2 and consequently the improvement of the efficiency of the engine is resulted.
