Abstract

PURPOSE:To diagnose a fault even in the wait mode of a received signal by supplying a signal of an image frequency to an intermediate frequency converter as a substitute for a reception input, and then detecting the presence of an intermediate frequency signal in said state. CONSTITUTION:When a detector 8 does not detect any intermediate frequency signal, a controller 9 closes a switch 4 for a certain time to supply an image frequency signal from an image frequency signal oscillator 5 to an intermediate frequency converter 7. When the detector 8 can not detect the intermediate frequency signal, a receiver itself is faulty and when the detector 8 detects the intermediate frequency signal, it is judged that the receiver is normal and there is no reception input.
