CONSTITUTION:The test pattern is transmitted from a transmitter 10 by switching a picture switching device 4 during transmission. The signal received is added to the television picture when a picture switching device 5 is switched at a switching control device 7, and the transmission test pattern only transmitted is detected. The transmission test pattern detected at the switching device 5 is fed to a comparison circuit 13 at the next stage and compared with the reference test pattern produced from the test pattern generator 3. By judging the output at a judgement circuit 14 at the next stage, a failure of television picture can automatically be monitored.
