Abstract

PURPOSE:To hold the contact between a cleaning member and the surface of a recording material uniform, by pressing one, at least, of a cleaning member and a member facing to this cleaning member to the other through the recording material by a spring or the like. CONSTITUTION:A belt-shaped photoreceptor 1 as a recording material is supported by two supporting rollers 2 and 3, and a remaining magnetic toner is removed by a cleaning device 22. The cleaning device 22 includes a nonmagnetic sleeve 30 which contains magnets N and S stationarily and is rotated, and a top plate 6c of a supporting member 6 faces to the surface of the sleeve 30 through the photoreceptor belt 1 so that this top plate 6c can be floated practicablly for respective roller shafts, and the top plate 6c is pressed from below by a flat spring 31 to be brought into contact with the surface of the sleeve 30 uniformly even if the degree of parallel between the surface of the sleeve 30 and the photoreceptor belt 1 or the top plate 6c is not so high, and thus, the toner is removed without variance by the sleeve 30.
