Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent graphite for trimming from being shaved by a method wherein a contact spring for connecting the graphite provided in a shadow mask and that provided in a funnel is attached to a supporting spring fixed to the mask or a side frame located closed to the spring. CONSTITUTION:A supporting spring 11 fixed to a shadow mask 1 is engaged with a panel pin 4 buried in the panel 3, whereas the mask 1 is held on the inside surface of the panel 3 at the predetermined spacing. The spring 11 is provided with a hole 11b made by cutting a solid portion 11a of the mask 1. At one end of a contact spring 12 is formed a spherically curved portion 12a to be attached to the graphite 6 for trimming on the funnel 5, whereas an insertion 12b to be engaged with the spring 11 and a stopper 12c are formed at the other end of the spring. The center of the insertion 12b is cut in a U shape and a welded portion 12d in a spherical form is prepared. The welded portions 12d and 11b are coated with a conductive material, so that springs 11, 12 are allowed to become electrically conductive. This also prevents mechanical vibration from being transmitted to the spring 12.
