Abstract
PURPOSE:To make the size small of selective electrodes of ions listed below and their manufacture and handling easy by covering a conductive metal with a matter that contains as main ingredients a mixture of epoxy polymer and a liquid ion-exchange body that contains one of Cl<->, NO2<->, I<->, Br<->, and ClO4<->. CONSTITUTION:A liquid ion-exchange body such as trioctylmethylammonium chloride, etc. is put in a solvent with addition of salts of Cl, NO2, I, Br, and ClO4 to exchange respective ions and an ion-exchange liquid is obtained. Next, to this ion-exchange liquid bisphenol A-type epoxy oligomer and a hardening agent to prepare a liquid. When this liquid has viscosity of paste, it is applied on the surface of a copper wire 3, etc. and dried and hardened. The copper wire 3 with the covering 4 is soldered on a copper wire 1 and their joint is covered with a teflon tube 7, and they are provided with a holder 6 and a protection tube 5 to obtain an ion selective electrode. In this method an electrode that is resistant to obstructive ions and has excellent response can be obtained.
