Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the reliability of vertical conducting agent, and enhance the commercial value of display element by extending the display effective area, by using conductive paste mixed with low melting point conductive metal as the vertical conducting agent of electrode substrates.
CONSTITUTION: An upper substrate 1 having an upper electrode 3 of specified shape in the inside, and a lower substrate 2 having a lower electrode 4 which confronts against the electrode 3 are fused and secured together in the circumference with sealing agent, and the electrode extending outside is connected to the terminal of the substrate 1. The electrodes 3, 4 are connected by means of a vertical conducting agent 6 which has low melting point metal such as Sn and In of which melting point is 100 to 300°C added and mixed in silver paste. The low melting point metal is melted by thermo-compression-bonding of the sealing agent 5 to set up a pole between electrodes 3, 4. Therefore, the area and volume of conduction between electrodes 3 and 4 are sufficiently larger than those of silver paste, so that failure of conduction due to distortion and warp of substrates 1, 2 may be prevented.
