Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a wire electrode which is microminiature and excellent in durability, by coating a copper wire with a mixture of polyvinyl chloride or epoxy oligomer and lipophilic quaternary ammonium nitrate. CONSTITUTION:To trioctylmethylammonium chloride, 40wt% decanool or methylcyclohexanone is added, and an approximately same quantity of potassium nitrate of 1mol/l is added thereto. Shaking and centrifugal separation are repeated in order to completely dehydrate an oil phase of the obtained liquid. An epoxy liquid of a given composition is prepared from the dehydrated liquid and bisphenol A-type epoxy oligomer and hardened at room temperature. When it becomes pasty, a copper wire 3 of 0.6mm.phiX5cm is dipped and rotated in the epoxy liquid. Then, said copper wire 3 is taken out from the epoxy liquid and, after being left as it is for 5min, it is dipped in the epoxy liquid again. Said operation is repeated to form an epoxy liquid coating 4 of thickness 0.05-0.2mm..
