Abstract

PURPOSE: To atomize a paint and to form a good painting film when painting a liquid paint in an electrostatic process, by causing the relative high frequency oscillation in alternating directions at both sides of a jetted paint film.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid paint in a tank T is fed by pressure and with use of a pump P to an atomizing head 1 of the paint and sprayed to an object (a) to be painted from a paint flowing groove 12 and through a narrow slit 19 formed with metallic blades 18a and 18b. In this case, the negative voltage is applied to the paint in the head 1 from a high voltage power supply 5, and at the same time the positive voltage is applied to the object (a) respectively. At the same time, high frequency oscillators 20a and 20b connected to the output terminal of a high frequency oscillator 21 are attached to the upper end of the blade 18a and the lower end of the blade 18b respectively. The paint jetted through the slit 19 in the form of a thin film liquid is atomized into an extremely small size by the oscillators 20a and 20b having from several thousands to several ten thousands cycles to be painted evenly on the surface of the object (a) in an electrostatic process.
