Abstract
PURPOSE:To restrain the NOx value at medium and low load operations to a low value and protect burners from high temperature atmosphere by a method wherein a controlling box is provided controlling the cooling of the burners, which are extinguished and put out of operation, by supplying recirculation exhause gas alone thereto. CONSTITUTION:Twenty-four burners are provided at the frong wall side and twenty- four burners at the rear wall side of the large size low NOx boiler. The burners are arranged in four rows, each of which consists of two groups: the group of burners A1, A2 and A3 and the group of burners A4, A5 and A6. The flow rate of mixture gas to be supplied to a burner is individually controlled with dampers 3A1, 3B, .... The controlling of the recirculation gas to be supplied to the group of burners A1, A2 and A3 is performed with a damper 3ARG13. When the grup of burners A1, A2 and A3 is extinguished and put out of operation, only the recirculation exhaust gas is supplied to the burners A1, A2 and A3 by closing a damper 3A13 and opening the damper 3ARG13 in order to cool them. As a result, the NOx value in exhaust gas can be restrained to remarkably low value at medium and low load operations and yet the necessary operation for realizaton of low NOx value is performed only by operating the dampers.
