Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the fuel consumption of the title furnace by setting an exhaust fan between the preheating tip furnace in the above furnace and the flue to efficiently utilize combustion gas.
CONSTITUTION: In furnace 1 for calcining carbon moldings such as electrode, 16 furnace chambers 2 are arranged. Fuel such as heavy oil is burned with heavy oil burner 4 in No.4 chamber, the combustion gas is circulated through No.5 and 6 chambers and exhausted from No.11 preheating tip furnace into flue 3 through continuous pipe 8. By setting exhaust fan H in pipe 8 the vol. of the exhaust gas and the vol. of the combustion gas flowing through each chamber 2 are regulated to control the temp. of furnace 1. By setting flue gas glowing fan C in each connection pipe 8 between ducts 5 leading to flue 3, flue gas is actively blown into furnace 1. By regulating fan C together with fan H, the temp. rising curve can be controlled in a wide range to effectively utilize heat.
