Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the period in failure, by immediately resetting a microprocessor without giving effect on the content of a read/write memory connected to the microprocessor, if normal program can not be executed. CONSTITUTION:When addresses are outputted from a microprocessor 5, a specific address is selected with a decoder 16. This is ANDed with an input and output write signal at a gate circuit 17, and given to a retriggerable monostable multivibrator 11. The time constant of the monostable multivibrator 11 is set longer than a time of program scanning. If a failure takes place and a trigger signal is not given to the monostable multivibrator 11, after a time determined by the time constant, the monostable multivibrator is inverted, the output drives flip-flops 12 and 13 and a reset signal is given to a reset terminal 6 of the microprocessor 5.
