Abstract

PURPOSE: To prepare a chewing gum having complicated shape, by injecting the raw mateial of chewing gum into the mold of an injection molding machine with screw pressure at a heating cylinder temperature of 50W90°C, and forming under cooling.
CONSTITUTION: A conventional raw material of chewing gum is kneaded in a mixer 10, formed in a shape of a sheet by an extruder 12 and a roll cutter 14, pelletized with a fine cutter 16, and coated with powder in a mixer 20. The pellets are metered and charged in the hopper of an injection molding machine 22, and injected into the mold 52 maintained at ≤15°C by the cooling water in the cooling water channel 54, under the pressure with the screw 44 keeping the temperature of the heating cylinder 46 at 50W90°C. The material is solidified in the mold 52 by cooling.
