PURPOSE:To freely control a chopper device in high degree by performing the calculations of a current instruction value, current control and current flow rate by means of the numerical calculation function of a microcomputer. CONSTITUTION:When an interrupt signal is applied to a microprocessor 31 from a timer 34, the microprocessor 31 reads out a control program from a read only memory 33. Then, the microprocessor calculates a chopper state signal and a motor state signal inputted from a chopper state detector 36, an operation instruction signal inputted from an input buffer relay circuit 38 and an answer signal from a main circuit in accordance with the read out control program, produces a digital signal by the result of the calculation to a digital output circuit 310, and produces a current flow rate instraction by the calculated result to a digital phase shifter 312 for calculating the positions of an ON pulse for a main thyristor of the chopper device and of an OFF pulse for an auxiliary thyristor.
