Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption as a whole even in a high speed operation, by discriminating a used function circuit from a not used one in each instruction, etc. and controlling so as not to flow the current to the unused function circuit. CONSTITUTION:A decoder 1 interprets instructions and outputs a control signal in gate unit and recognizes the function circuit used for every instruction. Control is made so as not to flow the current to the unused functions e.g., the output is at ''1'' in case of the inverter. In case of addition, since the use or nonuse of an operation circuit is identified if the result of addition is set to a register 8, when it is identified as nonuse, control is made by the decoder 1 so as not to flow the current to each gate of a circuit 7.
