Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent neutron density in a centrifugal clarifier from attaining the critical value by constructing a washing nozzle utilizing a bar material of a neutron absorbing alloy disposed at the axial center in the liquid contact part of the centrifugal clarifier to absorb neutrons in the alloy.
CONSTITUTION: A stationary sleeve 14 at the center of the bottom part of a casing 6 is supported by means of plural ribs 15 in the radial direction. A bar material 16 of an alloy contg. a neutron absorbing material is fixed to the sleeve 14 with a slight gap from the inside surface of the top end of a rotary bowl 7. An axial passage 17 and a diametral passage 18 are provided in this bar material 16, and a washing nozzle is constructed by utilizing the material 16. The bottom end of the passage 17 communicates with a supply pipe 19 for washing water and a nozzle piece 20 is disposed to the opening of the passage 18.
