Then, the cooling water flows out of the control rod 3 through a hole provided through a control rod top metal 35 and falls through a control rod cooling water outlet passage 38 defined between the control rod 3 and a control rod guide pipe 4 while cooling the control rod 3. thereafter, the cooling water flows out of the reactor through a cooling water outlet nozzle 22 provided on a control rod driving housing 2.
