Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent corrosion of the lubricating water system by allowing the seawater as bearing lubricating water to be automatically substituted fresh water when pump operation stops, in the case where the self-pressre seawater is used as the bearing lubricating water for the sea-water pump in a thermoelectric power station etc. CONSTITUTION:A pump 1 is driven by a motor 2, and a part of the discharged pressure seawater is supplied as the lubricating water into the bearing part, passing through filtering apparatuses 4 and 5 and an automatic stopper valve 11. As the self pressure water does not exist before a pump starts, fresh water is supplied as the lubricating water by the fresh water feeding system 8. Therefore, the lubricating water flow-rate detection switch 9 and a fresh water substituting vale 12 are installed as shown in the figure. When pump operation stops, a valve 10 is opened by the signal from the switch 9, then a valve 12 is opened, and the valve 11 is closed, then the seawater staying in the lubricating water supply system is substituted by fresh water, and thus corrosion of the lubricating water system due to still seawater can be prevented.
