Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability and the life of instruments through intermittent direct contact of instruments with sea water by discharging the sea water entering the instruments at a proper interval. CONSTITUTION:A main valve 3 of an instrument is connected to the instrument 5 by branching off a piping 7, which is provided with a fresh water injection valve 4. The fresh water is forced into the piping 7 with a means not illustrated. When the main valve 3 is closed whle the fresh water injection valve 4 is opened while no sea water enters a instrument detection piping 2, the frsh water comes into the piping 2 through the piping 7. Then, with the start of the operation, sea water flows into a sea water system piping 1 while entering the piping 2. At this point, with the opening of the main valve 3, the sea water in the piping 2 is pushed up by the pressure of the fresh water and sent into the piping 1. Therefore, the instruments comprising the instrument 5, the piping 2 and the like are mostly occupied by the fresh water. As the fresh water is very limited in the degree of corrosion against the instruments as compared with the sea water, corrosion of the instruments can be prevented.
