Abstract
PURPOSE:To both prevent occurrence of a thermal difference in end faces and remove a molten object then perform their good welding, by protrusively forming the end face of a flange in alignment to the end face of a cylindrical unit, when the end face of the flange is welded to the end face of the hollowed cylindrical unit. CONSTITUTION:A roller device is constituted in such a manner that the end face of a flange 13 is jointed to the end face of, for instance, a hollowed cylindrical unit 11, and the both end faces are rotated under a press contact condition and welded by friction heat. In this case, a jointed part 14 said both 11, 13 is formed to same sectional area, and in the end face of the flange 13, a ring-shaped relief groove 15 is formed along the internal peripheral part of the jointed part 14. In this way, at welding of said both 11, 13, occurrence of a thermal difference can be prevented between the both 11, 13 because of the same sectional area respectively in the jointed part 14, simultaneously a molten object generated in the jointed part 14 can be removed to the relief groove 15. Further the end faces of said both 11, 13 are jointed by themselves, then a teflon coat 12 in the periphery of the cylindrical unit 11 can be prevented from being demaged by the jointed part 14.
