Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a PC steel bar of improved stress corrosion resistance characteristics by applying proper stretching to a steel bar contg. a suitable amt. of Cu. CONSTITUTION:A steel bar consisting of 0.5-1.0% C, 0.15-0.5% Si, 0.3-0.9% Mn, 0.2-1.0% Cu and the balance iron and impurities is subjected to a 0.3-3% stretching treatment. The PC steel bar of considerably improved stress corrosion resistance characteristics is obtained while general mechanical properties are retained, by the composition of said steel bar and the application of the stretching.
