Abstract

PURPOSE:To promote the accuracy and the speed of inspection in a captioned machine by providing a means to detect the mark printed on a printing sheet of a calender and give a logical decision as converting the detection into an electric signal for processing for inspecting missing or incorrectly-collated pages or the like automatically. CONSTITUTION:At a margin edge 2 free from a pattern 1 on a printed sheet 5 of a calender, twelve mark areas 3 for inserting a mark are arranged at equal pitches, and a mark 4 is printed in the mark area 3 corresponding to a pattern by black ink at the same time with the printing of the pattern. Then, an inspection processing unit is constructed of a mark detector 7, an amplification circuit 8, a binary circuit 9, a mark-phase detection circuit 20, a comparison circuit 10, a counter circuit 11, a decision circuit 12, an alarm circuit 13, a line control circuit 15, a position detection circuit 16, a timing circuit 19, and others. In this construction, on the basis of the comparing decision between a mark-phase detection signal A and a counter output G, the collation can be inspected automatically for promoting the accuracy and the speed of the inspection as economizing labor.
