Abstract

PURPOSE: To enable to reduce a doctor load and allevaiate the wear of a printing plate and a doctor by a method wherein a doctor blade is used in combination with an opposite blade while blowing hot air between the two blades onto a plate surface.
CONSTITUTION: The doctor blade 1 and the opposite blade 2 are supported in parallel with each other at a spacing of several mm by a holder 4 to constitute the dorctor (numeral 5 denotes a screw for fine adjustment of the spacing). The doctor balde 1 is contacted to a gravue plate cylinder 7 which is ratated in the direction of the arrow with its lower part immersed in the ink 9 contained in an ink pot 8 (the opposite blade 2 is not contacted to the cylinder 7 and it is faced to the cylinder 7 with a spacing of several hundreds μWseveral mm therebetween), and hot air as indicated by an arrow 3 is blown between the blades 1, 2 onto the plate surface. Since a semidried ink film 6 which the doctor blade 1 has failed to scrape is dried by the hot air 3 to become a dried ink film 10, it is not transferred onto a material 20 to be printed, and accordingly, only the ink at recessed image part of the plate cylinder 7 is transferred onto the material 20, forming a gravue printed image.
