Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the decrease in the yield of rolling on account of the crop losses produced in rolled plates in the stage of rolling thick plates by adjusting rolling reduction on the botrom side end part of rolling in initial rolling then subjecting the plates to ordinary rolling. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of reverse rolling of a heated ingot 1, the rolling reduction is reduced in a <=600mm. range from the end part on the release side during the course of rolling and a rolling material is released at 30-60% rolling reduction on the a1 side while it is under forward pass rolling of an odd number at which it is released on the bite b1 side from the leading end a1 side of the rolling material in the initial rolling of thick plate rolling including no broadside rolling.
