Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a long-term service fluorescent lamp which can start immediately in a normal lighting circuit. CONSTITUTION:A bimetal moving contact flap 15 makes contact to a fixed contact flap 14 at normal temperatures. When a switch 16 is set to ON and a filament 11 is heated, the moving contact flap 15 is separated by the conduction heat which is transmitted by a connection line 17. When a fluorescent lamp is connected in series to a power supply through a stabilizer and is lit, the lamp start time is reduced to only the time (approximately 1 to 1.5sec) that is required for the filament preheating and its intermediate start is enabled. Besides, since kick voltage can be generated with a good timing when the filament temperature reaches a preset temperature, the reduction of lamp life can be prevented.
