Abstract

PURPOSE:To form a metal plating layer of uniform thickness over the entire inside wall surface of a mold body and to improve the life of the mold by providing a main anode of a cylindrical net in the mold body and barlike auxiliary anode in its corner part. CONSTITUTION:A barlike auxiliary anode 5 opposing to the corner part of a mold body 1 is provided together with a main anode 4 consisting of a rectangular shape in section coaxially within the mold 1. Plating soln. is supplied to the inside of a plating bath tank 15 through the lower opening of a funnel-shaped member 12, and is overflowed into a trough member 13, thence it is discharged through a discharge port 14 and is circulated while fresh plating soln. is being replenished by circulating route 19. On the other hand, with the mold body 1 as cathode, this cathode 1 and the main anode 4 are connected by an electric circuit 20 via a lead terminal piece 18, to which electricity is conducted. Also, the cathode 1 and the auxiliary electrode 5 are connected by an electric circuit 21, to which electricity is conducted. Thus, the metallic plated layer of uniform thickness is formed over the entire inside wall surface of the mold body by controlling the current capacities of the circuit 20, 21 and making the current densities of the corner part and the plane part equal.
