Abstract
PURPOSE:To control compressing capability and reduce power by providing an opening valve inserted in a suction passage of gas supplied to a compression chamber and making a part of compressive work in a compression chamber selectively zero by the opening valve. CONSTITUTION:Since a piston 24 moves left and opens against tension of a spring 23 when a coil of a solenoid valve 22 is alive, passages from a suction passage 25' to suction ports 9, 9' communicate with each other and refrigerant gas is supplied to a cylinder chamber as usual, a compressor performing compressive work as usual. When the solenoid valve is not alive, the piston 24 is opened by means of tension of the spring 23, passages from the suction passage 25' to the suction ports 9,9' are intercepted. As a result, refrigerant gas is not supplied from the passage 25' to the cylinder chamber but supplied only from the other suction passage 25.
