PURPOSE:To orientate the position of a station, where a fault occurs, in a monitor station, by causing stations, which cannot receive alarm erasing data, to add their own addresses to alarm continuing data and transmit this data onto a loop. CONSTITUTION:If a transmission device N4 becomes faulty, data transmitted from processing devices H1-Hn disappear in the transmission device N4. Consequently, transmission devices except the device N4 output alarm data to respective processing devices. Meanwhile, the processing device H1 which monitors conditions of the whole of the system transmits alarm erasing data onto a loop transmission line L through a transmission device N1 when receiving alarm data. Processing devices which receive alarm erasing data stop the alarm output, and processing devices H5, H6- which do not receive alarm erasing data for a prescribed time add their own addresses to alarm continuing data and transmit this data onto the loop. On a basis of these address values, the processing device H1 discriminates that the processing device N4 is faulty.
