Abstract
PURPOSE:To seal neck tubes of cathode ray tubes with different neck tube diameters using one sealing machine by adjusting the weight of a part from the sealing part of a neck tube to the flare in an identical weight independent of diameters of neck tubes. CONSTITUTION:A neck tube is made shorter for a cathode ray tube with a larger neck tube 5 diameter and longer for a smaller neck tube 11 diameter in order to adjust the weight of a part from the sealing part of the neck tube to the flare in an identical weight independent of diameters of neck tubes. A stem 12 is inserted into a neck tube 5, 11, and the sealing part is heated with a burner. When, the neck tube is softened and drawn down by the gravity, and a molten part is welded on the stem. Thus, neck tubes can be sealed under an identical condition because of the identical weight, and cathode ray tubes with different neck tube diameters can be sealed using one sealing machine.
