Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the quality of the sealed part of a cathode-ray tube by holding a stem by means of a mount pin located at a given position on the neck glass, and fusing the stem to the neck glass, after restraining force is exerted so that the stem is in close contact with the mount pin constantly. CONSTITUTION:A stem 2 is inserted into a mount pin 21 so as to hold a lead 4. At the same time, an exhaust tube 3 is held with an exhaust tube holder 20, and is pulled in the direction indicated by the arrow by means of a restraining spring 23 so that the stem closely touches the mount pin 21. After that, the stem 2 is fused to a neck glass 1 by applying a flame 9 of a burner 8. As a result, since the position of the stem 2 is fixed, a sealed part with an appropriate shape is obtained, and the quality of the seal is increased.
