Abstract
PURPOSE:To lessen defectives by a glass piece inside the cathode-ray tube and improve length accuracy after being sealed, by rounding a sealed part by means of annealing after drawing out a deposit place and its vicinity as long as by the fixed size and thinning the thickness of a neck part upon deposit welding of the relatively thick neck and the stem. CONSTITUTION:After a stem 21 is welded to a lower end 12 of a neck 11, when this weld point and its vicinity is drawn out as long as by the fixed size with the stem 21 shifted, thickness in the vicinity of the neck lower end 12 becomes thinned as shown in figure C and thereby operation on annealing and rounding the sealing part comes easy. According to this invention, such a job as sealing a stem to a thick neck one or a stem sealing with a thick neck that is so far considered to be difficult by the conventional techniques is now able to be done easily and economically without the necessity of a specially shaped neck.
