Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the distortion at the encapsulating section of a bulb, by standing a glass tube made of the encapsulator material or alumina silicate vertically, then inserting a lead made of molybdenum and thermally fusing the lower end of the glass tube. CONSTITUTION:A hard glass tube made of alumina silicate is employed as the bulb encapsulating material and held such that the tube axis X is vertical, while a guide lead rod 8 made of molybdenum is inserted into the glass tube 4 and supported such that the lead wire 8 will project from the lower end opening 9 of the glass tube 9. Under this state the outer circumferential face at the lower end section 10 of the glass tube 4 is thermally fused under nitrogen gas environment by means of a gas burner 11 to form a bulb encapsulating section 7. Consequently sufficient air-tightness can be maintained without requiring special structure as the conductive member and without causing the distortion of the glass at the bulb encapsulating section.
