Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent a device from deterioration by a method wherein a bias circuit is serially inserted between a laser diode driving circuit input end and a monitor circuit output end and supplies the laser diode with a bias current only when all power supplies are on. CONSTITUTION:The output from a laser diode D1 is monitored by a light receiving device D2 whose output is next fed back to the D1 driving circuit to change the DC bias current for the laser diode D1. In a circuit for stabilizing a light output, the output electrode of a transistor Tr 3 is provided with a Zener diode 3 with a reverse direction voltage of 5 volts to lower the Tr 3 input by 5 volts, against the transistor Tr 3 power source voltage of -5 volts. Further, the input negative terminal of an inversion amplifier 1 is supplied with a voltage, set by adjusting a potentiometer R12, making up for a voltage drop caused by a diode 3 with the amplifier 1 output normal. This setup causes the D1 bias current to stop when the +5 volt supply is off, preventing emission of an unnecessarily large quantity of light.
