Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the performance of a dispersion type photoconductive layer formed of backing and an inorg. photoconductor and the yield of a photoreceptor by applying an electrostatic charging treatment to said photoconductive layer by a corona or direct application system, then providing an insulation layer on the photoconductive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photoconductive particles which are dispersed in a binder resin are coated on backing of Al, Cr, Bo, etc., whereby a dispersion type photoconductove layer is formed. An electrostatic treatment is applied to this photoconductive layer by a corona or direct application system, after which an insulation layer is provided on the photoconductive layer, whereby an electrophotographic receptor is obtd. For example, an endless insultion film B is coated on a rotary conductive roller C, after which it is brought in press contact with a photoconductive layer A. After these are rotated, AC voltage is applied thereto. The applied voltage is preferably 0.5-2.5kv and the insulation film is preferably 16-50mum thick. The photoconductive particles contained in the photoconductive layer are oxides, sulfides, etc. of metals such as Zn, Hg, Al, Sb and the like.
