Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce fuel consumption and to attain the prescribed value of water contents in using titled device at a sewage treatment plant or the like by controlling the rate of fuel supply with a fuel control means in such a way that the moisture contents of dried sludge attain the prescribed value.
CONSTITUTION: The sludge S from a concentrator enters a rotary drum 6 through a feed part 3, and while it is agitated with an impeller 5, it is dried and fined by the hot wind of a burner 2. Here, the moisture contents of the dried sludge are measured with a moisture content meter 13, and are inputted to a controller 14. A motor valve 15 is operated of its valve opening by the controller 14 to control the rate of fuel supply to the burner 2. An IR type moisture content meter is used as the meter 13 and the errors thereof are about ≤5%. Since the fuel supply is controller in such a way that the moisture contents attain the prescribed value, the fuel consumption is reduced and the moisture contents are made constant.
