Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the adhesion of an active substance and to reduce cyclic deterioration by a method wherein a state teeming with unevenness is given to the surface of a cast lattice made from alloy of Pb-Ca series so as to increases the surface area of the lattice. CONSTITUTION:It is known as a blast process to blow grains (hard enough to form unevenness on the surface of a lattice) against the surface of the lattice at high velocity, and there are sand and grid blast methods for providing the blast process. The unevenness is produced because part of the lattice is shaved off when the grains collide with the lattice. 1 indicates the period of the self-discharge maintained by a battery having a plate made with the blast process, while 2 shows the characteristics of the period of the self-discharge maintained by a battery having a plate prepared without the blast process. As illustrated by the graphic representation, the one having a plate prepared with the blast process shows less deterioration in its life.
