The excitation of the core leg on which the winding 50 is wound does not change according to the position of the tap because voltage between both terminals u, v of the winding 50 is constant. Accordingly, the voltage of the winding 30 is also constatnt regardless of the position of the tap. Since the induced voltage of the tap winding is constant, stepping voltage is also constant, the width of the voltage changes at the plus side and the minus side is also equalized, and the transformer is easily controlled.
