Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve the forming process under low pressure by a forming a polyester sheet along a heating die in pressurized air and heat treating, then supplying pressurized air-blow from the heating die-side by inserting a cooling die in the heating die, to cool the formed product in contact with the cooling die. CONSTITUTION:After a biaxially drawn polyester sheet 1 with degree of crystallinity less than 30% and 0.02-0.15 planar orientation coefficient, is heated by a heating device 4, the sheet is placed on the upper side of a pressurized air chamber 5. The sheet 1 is fixed between a heating die 2 and the chamber 5 by lowering the heating die 2 which has been previously heated at below Tc of the polyester and above (Tc-70) deg.C by a heater 6. Next, the sheet 1 is formed along the die 2 by pressurized air-blown in from a pressurized air port 7 of the chamber 5 side, and after the formed product is heat treated by keeping the supply of pressurized air for predetermined time, the cooling die 3 with a shape corresponding to the die 2 is inserted into the die 2. Then, the pressurized air is exhausted from the pressurized air port 7 of the die 2 side, and the formed product is forcibly in contact with the die 3 and is cooled. Thus, the high heat- resisting formed product which permits retort sterilization and high temperature packaging is obtd.
