Abstract

PURPOSE:To uniformly cool the entire coil by performing temperature control of enclosed environmental atmosphere, external air injection control for overheat prevention, coolant blowing control, coil heating compensation control in the process of transferring hot-drawn wire material. CONSTITUTION:Hot-drawn high-temperature wire material is wound into a coil and transferred by roller conveyor. In the transfer passage, the electric heater is adjusted by the atmospheric temperature regulator 1 in the heat-insulating cover to meet the predetermined atmospheric temperature. The atmospheric temperature within the cover is detected by the thermometer 6 and compared with the predetermined temperature. The resultant data is used by the fan 7 and damper 8 to control the atmospheric temperature. The thermometers 9, 10 measure the temperatures at the underside and side faces of the coil. If these values are out of the lower limit in the coil cooling pattern, the heaters 11, 17 at the underside and side surfaces are heated by passing current to compensate for heat at the overcooled coil portion to have it return to the target temperature. In this manner, the entire coil is uniformly cooled and the quality variations in wire material is eliminated.
